Authority approvals

RTA Approvals for Construction Projects

Where a project affects roads, site access, parking or the public right of way, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has to approve it. We identify when an RTA NOC is needed and coordinate it with the building permit.

  • Authority ready drawings prepared by our engineers
  • Submissions, comments and follow up handled for you
  • Through to permit, NOC or completion certificate

Overview

How RTA approvals work

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reviews works and designs that affect Dubai's roads and public right of way. For building projects, this typically includes site access and entrances, parking provision, works within the right of way and temporary traffic arrangements during construction.

Not every project needs RTA input. We check the scope and the plot during the feasibility stage and include the RTA step only where it applies.

Projects we handle

  • New buildings needing access and parking approval
  • Works within or next to the public right of way
  • Temporary traffic arrangements for construction
  • Change of use affecting parking demand
Process

The exact steps depend on the scope and the plot. This is the usual sequence we manage.

We confirm whether RTA approval applies to the scope.

  2. Drawings

Site access, parking and right of way drawings as required.

  3. Submission

    RTA submission and comment handling.

  4. NOC

NOC issued and included in the building permit package.

FAQ

RTA approval questions

Does a villa renovation need RTA approval?

Usually not, unless the works change access to the road or affect the public right of way. We confirm during the scope review.
